When a lead consultant withdrew days before a fixed project start, we activated our backup pipeline, resolved complex cross-border compliance and delivered a replacement SAP SuccessFactors specialist in time to keep a critical HR transformation programme on schedule.
Client Profile
Our client was a boutique IT consultancy delivering SAP SuccessFactors transformation services into a confidential end client. The engagement centred on a strategic HR transformation programme requiring specialist expertise in Succession Management and Career Development Planning.
Market Context
SAP SuccessFactors specialists with deep functional experience remain in short supply, particularly when organisations require language capability alongside technical expertise. Adding cross-border contracting, tax considerations and fixed programme milestones increases delivery risk further, leaving little margin for disruption once mobilisation has begun.
Business Challenge
The consultancy required a certified SAP SuccessFactors consultant with a minimum of three years' specialist experience in Succession Development and Planning, together with native or fluent Portuguese to support regional stakeholders.
The search extended across Latin America and Europe, introducing additional complexity around tax compliance, invoicing, entity considerations and background checks relating to previous employment restrictions. The programme was working towards a fixed May start date that could not be moved.
Just before mobilisation, the preferred consultant withdrew from the process, creating an immediate delivery risk for both the planned five-day design workshop and the wider Application Maintenance Services engagement that followed.
Why Digisourced
Projects operating across multiple jurisdictions require more than access to specialist talent. They demand recruitment partners who understand the practical realities of international compliance, contractor mobilisation and programme timelines.
Our established SAP SuccessFactors network, combined with a structured contingency approach, allowed us to respond immediately without restarting the recruitment process.
Our Delivery Approach
Rather than beginning a new search, we activated our existing backup pipeline and immediately shortlisted previously qualified consultants.
Alongside accelerated technical screening and language assessment, we coordinated directly with legal and finance teams to establish a compliant cross-border contracting structure, resolving tax and invoicing requirements before they could delay mobilisation.
The successful consultant brought three and a half years of specialist SAP SuccessFactors experience covering Succession Management, Career Development Planning and Performance & Goals Management, while meeting both the language and availability requirements.
The Outcome
The consultant joined the programme in time for the scheduled early May kick-off, leading the five-day workshop without disruption before continuing into the Application Maintenance Services phase.
Despite the late withdrawal of the original candidate, the client maintained programme momentum, all cross-border compliance requirements were completed before mobilisation, and the successful recovery further strengthened the long-term client relationship.
