Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Expert Application Engineer to join our team and play a critical role in maintaining and enhancing the legacy applications supporting critical social security systems. This role requires strong technical expertise in COBOL development with TPX API and SQL, as well as a collaborative mindset to work effectively with internal teams.
Responsibilities:
- Master the processes supporting key social security services.
- Maintain existing legacy applications, ensuring their continued operation in close collaboration with the ICT team.
- Analyse existing COBOL code to identify areas for improvement and troubleshoot issues.
- Develop and implement solutions in consultation with internal teams to enhance or expand systems functionality.
- Extract data from the database for reporting and management purposes.
Required Skills:
- Expert-level proficiency in COBOL development with TPX API and embedded SQL (PRO*COBOL).
- Strong skills in Oracle SQL, including SQLPlus and SQLLoader.
- Proven ability to technically analyse existing COBOL code.
- Active knowledge of Dutch and French languages.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a team environment.
Desired Skills:
- Experience with functional analysis.
- Familiarity with WebDev/WinDev or a willingness to learn.
- Knowledge of Linux.
- Experience with Jira and Confluence.
